Kristalee Guerra Mata

Kristalee Guerra Mata is Of Counsel with the Law Offices of Brandy Wingate Voss.  She began her legal career in private practice at Brown McCarroll, LLP in Austin, Texas where she worked on products liability, business, health care compliance, and employment litigation.  She then practiced law at Johnson Spalding, LLP and Myers ♦ Doyle in Houston, Texas, focusing on products liability and health care liability lawsuits.  Most recently, Kristalee was a Senior Attorney at the Texas Thirteenth Court of Appeals in Edinburg, Texas. 

Kristalee earned her B.A. in Public Policy and American Institutions from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.  While in law school, she was Managing Editor of The Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy.  She is a former Fellow with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C. and also worked for the United States House of Representatives.

An active member of her community, Kristalee is a member of the Brown University Alumni Club of the Rio Grande Valley and a CCD teacher at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen.  She formerly served on the City of McAllen’s Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals, is Past-President of the Hidalgo County Bar Association Women’s Bar Section, a past Director for the Hidalgo County Bar Association, and was an Associate Editor for the State Bar of Texas Appellate Advocate publication. 

Kristalee is married to Daniel A. Mata and they have three children.
